CLEAN SWEEP: THE COOL CENTER-PARTED HAIR BACKSTAGE

CLEAN SWEEP: THE COOL CENTER-PARTED HAIR BACKSTAGE

On runways from Suno and Jason Wu to Narciso Rodriguez and The Row, backstage hairstylists traded casually side-swept hair for something more precise. A deep side part can be bourgeois, too ladylike. This feels contemporary and quite cool, at Vera Wang fashionshow. In order to offset the opulent fabrics there, the stylists straightened models’ hair with an iron, made a neat line down the middle, and roughed up the ends using a few drops of Moroccanoil Dry Scalp Treatment.

According to backstage stylists at shows like , Carolina Herrera, and Oscar de la Renta this week, a center parted hairdo keeps the focus on the clothes. Not a bad thing when you consider the season’s lush textured furs, slick leathers, and architectural silhouettes. There is one more benefit: It makes the face symmetrical, they say—meaning that the quickest way to reinvent your look next season requires little more than a flick of the wrist. Try the newcenter-parted hair !
